Weekly Blog Entry Research & Project Updates (12)

Vaccination Hall project has been successfully implemented into Unity. The textures and lighting have been implemented. A build has been made that I walked through (recording myself as I did). This final week, I will prepare the final presentation slides, video, write my updated Artist Statement for the semester, and submit my Semester Paper.

Overall Unity Scene...

Entry

Entry area from all angles (notice the owls by the entry arch... this indicates you can go back this way to get to The Memorial Tomb, prev. project).

The 3 Major Emblems of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement

Two additional emblems used - Red Shield...

Red Lion

Centerpiece with Emblems of Medicine (Real rod of Asciepius - single snake rod - and false rod of caduceus - two snake rod w/wings). Underneath skylight that looks like the globe with light core.

False rod joined w/virus (repressed the virus and bad information regarding vaccination for the virus)

Frames using birds from The Memorial Tomb depicting various aspects of vaccine efforts (the initial overwhelming nature of the virus - Owls)

Our efforts to turn that around

The winds of change/transformation in this tumultuous time.

Circling a potentially better tomorrow...

2 pieces based off of Vaccine Print Art - paper circling some symbol in the middle. Here it's the variations of the vaccine circling a needle.

Here it's the advice to vaccinate circling a broken (defeated) virus.

Entry to second floor (frame on the right shows the productivity and diligence we have shown in the face of the pandemic turning the corner on the virus).

Second floor (more frames)

Sparrows and crows flying away from darker depicting of virus comeback - flying towards positive frame of virus being repressed)

Same frames on both sides - better view of them flying away from owl frame...

... and towards crow/sparrow frame

Darker depiction of virus comeback and it's threat

Positive depiction of the virus repressed - hopefully forever...

Second Floor Views...

View from skylight

The Exit... bathed in light for potentially better tomorrow.

Overall... I think I did well this semester, accomplished the majority of what I wanted, I have plenty to use for my Thesis project and paper next year, and I did a much better job of not burning myself out compared to the prev. semester (not to say I didn't at all... but certainly a significant improvement compared to before - this is something I'll continue to work on next year and beyond). For now I will leave the semester with a job well done, looking forward to the break and new opportunity's next year.
