Weekly Blog Entry Research & Project Updates (13)
It is finished. The scene has been placed into Unity, textures applied, lighting added, and raw footage has been recorded for the final video. All that’s left is to prepare for the final presentation (using said video as well as previous images on the blog entries) and to reflect on the project as a whole in the final blog post next week (things I am happy with, things I feel there could be room to improve on, things I thought to add to the project way too late, things to consider for the thesis next year as it will be about expanding on this concept piece, etc.). But for now, I did a lot of work… I am going to take a short break before creating the supplemental materials and wrapping this whole thing up once and for all.
Scene has been moved into Unity successfully...

Foyer (majority of images taken from FPS Controller perspective)…

This image NOT taken using the FPS Controller for example (perspective on the top right clues you in to that.

Halls 1

A concession I was forced to make in Unity - birds no longer semi-transparent! Shadows had unappealing, strange, white holes. Non-Transparency (opaque) is a loss... but not a deal-breaker.

Ultimately, the crisper shadows are worth that loss...

Mausoleum 1

Subtle, warmer light poring in from hole in the ceiling (weak spotlight using the color of the skybox, replicated in all similar rooms)

Diverging paths in the 2nd set of Halls...

Room 2 (the final room to use the foyer design, now with additional walls in the center), one of the places you could end up via diverging paths.

Mausoleum 2, one of the places you could end up via diverging paths. Room 2 and Mausoleum 2 connect with each other as well via a singular hallway.

Mausoleum 3, the final room.

3D Digital Art Final Project (Carved Head) incorporated into scene.

Final presentation will include details such as what birds symbolize and the color theory incorporated so viewers don't get lost!
Tentative Project Schedule
· Week 14 (This Week/Final Week): The Final Touches - Edit Video from Raw Footage, include sound work (consider acoustics in Museum Space and how the glass of the birds plays with that; have uncomfortable , cavernous music.). Create final presentation slideshow (include video and images from previous blog entries in the slides). Finally, submit final paper with completed slideshow and completed artist statement for final presentation.
