Thesis Year - Blog Post 17

Halfway through Sprint 2 and we continue marching forward. My centerpieces and retexturing of the museum are complete (see below), meaning my workload will return to mostly production duties heading to the deadline of milestone 1. Speaking of Milestone 1, we will likely hit it right on target on February 23rd, as is written on the Discord server.

What comes next is reminding/updating the team on tasks, including…

• Having 2D and 3D artists check the resolution of textures and digital paintings so they won’t be too blurry in-engine.

• Prepare to work on minor assets, stands, double checking Free Assets for implementation, etc.

• Remind team on the importance of in-engine recordings to see progress of game. Will also require recordings of Ed using Oculus to play game (to determine logistics of Thesis exhibition stand, how much space is needed, sitting, or standing, etc.)

Also reminding the team on important deadlines like…

• Sprint 2 Submission deadline on 2/16

• Milestone 1 deadline on 2/23

• A trailer will be due for the game on 4/6

• Clark UG Senior Showcase/Spring Fest – 4/27 with a 2 week submission process, have seniors on team aware so they may show off their work!

• PAX Submissions – why artists should submit work, and why “Memorial Tomb” as a whole game won’t be submitted.

This next week I’ll be more focused than usual on providing time to allow myself to finish the Thesis research paper. I only have one more support point draft to update, then I can review the content before and after the support points and put everything together. Ideally, by next week, the Thesis will be ready for an editor to look over.
