Weekly Blog Entry Research & Project Updates (8)

This week I wrote my paper on Art Games and their place in the larger games industry. A reflective piece that makes me think about my own project (an expanded “Memorial Tomb” and “Vaccine Wing” art game) and the potential impact it could have. I feel very lucky for the opportunity to get to work on an “Art Game” like this and plan to take all the knowledge accrued in both my papers from my 1st year as a graduate with me into my thesis year.
Next Week I get back on track with my project. I move into Phase III, texturing! Hopefully fun, my UV’s look good so there’s no reason to expect I will need to focus on anything other than the texturing itself. After that, it’ll be time to start putting things together and winding down as we closer to break. I have to say, I have done a far better job managing my stress (there have been days however…) as compared to last semester, but I am more than ready for a break, or at least a wind down in work. Completing the paper feels like turning a corner and feels like that wind down might be starting soon.
Tentative Project Schedule
