Weekly Blog Entry Research & Project Updates (11)
A brief break from the project as a whole this week as I instead spent that time working and completing my final paper rough draft (the topic being the how and why of “Art Games/Art House Games”). That said, I also worked on my 3D Digital Art final project (which ties into this project due to it being an asset I intend to place into the final scene) and made minor changes to the birds’ “frosted glass” texture normals to ensure they don’t “pop” out as much as they did before.
With the bulk of the paper now complete (link here), this week I will be able to jump into the final phase of my semester project… actually putting everything together, getting it in-engine, placing a character to explore the scene, and recording a short video of my first person exploration into the scene that has turned into a conceptualization of an “Art Game” about the Coronavirus Pandemic from its start to present day.
Progress on Carved Bust (modeled/sculpted in Blender) - high poly model will be baked to low poly, UV'd model for Substance texturing this week.

Take note of what is circled in the bottom right corner, normals for glass have dropped to acceptable levels.

This is true for all birds using this texture...

Because Vulture will be bigger than the other birds, the scale of the texture is a little different.

Tentative Project Schedule
· Week 12 (This Week) – Week 14: Putting Everything Together – Place assets in game engine (Unity); appropriate scaling, duplicating, lighting work, sound work (acoustics in Museum Space and how the glass of the birds plays with that) final polish, record/edit final demo video for presentation. Additionally, complete carved stone face for 3D Digital Art and place into final scene, complete final paper.
